GW Guild Wars Warrior
The best Warrior guides and strategies are available at Skryer.
The Warrior is the prototypical melee based class, which is relatively popular among almost all RPGs and MMOs. A force to be reckoned with in close quarter combat, able to deal much physical damage as well as withstand huge amounts of pain before subduing to his foe. A Warrior using the correct skill set is so resistant that he/she is able to withstand constant damage from 3 or 4 enemy characters before falling to the ground. This is due to certain strength based skills such as Defy Pain, Endure Pain and Healing Signet.
An advantage the Warrior has over all the other professions is the availability of a healing signet; it is the most potent self-healing skill, as it does not require any energy to cast and has a quick recharge rate. Its effectiveness is increased as more attribute points are spent into strength.
A Warrior will need to learn to effectively use defensive skills, as the character will almost always be within the midst of heavyset battles. Defensive skills allow the character to be rather hard to hit and will attempt to 'parry',' block' and/or 'deflect' incoming physical attacks. A Warrior not using defensive skills will be easy prey for other warriors and physical attack based creatures.
The profession has one major weakness, lightning vulnerability. All elementalist lightning based attacks have an armor penetration statistic. The way armor penetration works is that it causes the attack to inflict more damage the higher the armor rating is. Because warrior armor is so high (80-100), lightning based skills are anti-warrior in nature and inflict huge amounts of damage when successfully cast. Warriors should be weary of Elementalists casting Air Magic (lightning) based skills, as they are liable to rip them up if not careful.
