It is unclear on whether a traditional trial will be released; yet if history means anything at all it appears that Guild Wars will have some form of ‘free’ time before the release. As seen by the E3 pre-view and the October Worldwide Preview, ArenaNet seems focused to give the gaming community a taste of their game every now and then. Obviously they use it mostly as a publicity stunt rather than formal testing, but it is all good for the fans.

Merely speculating, but a ‘trial’ could be set for sometime before the formal release of Guild Wars. It would seem appropriate, as it would certainly create the buzz they are looking for immediately before the game hits shelves; not to mention some stress testing.
