GW Guild Wars Mini Map

Players will learn to use the ever-useful mini map, which is located in the far bottom right corner of the screen. It displays general geographical terrain, allied characters/creatures, enemy characters/creatures as well as non player characters. Allies are designated by a green dot, red for foes and white represents NPCs. The mini map has a relatively long range and it covers a 360-degree radius, hence players who are paying attention of what is happening in their mini-map are harder to be caught off-guard.

An interesting tool has been implemented into the mini-map, a drawing board. Players can draw upon the mini-map with their cursor, lines are created as if using a white marker; although the markings only last for a four or five seconds before disappearing. All members of your group are able to view these markings and each member can contribute to this (not only the leader). The usefulness lies when trying to decide upon a strategy or alerting players of something very important which is happening on the map (by clicking, but not holding the cursor on the map; a little flashing red alarm will appear). Very useful when wanting to direct the attention of the team, especially when playing in a player versus player match up.
