GW Guild Wars Henchmen
For players not wishing to group up with other individuals in order to either participate in player versus monster areas, there is an alternative which is almost as effective (minus human intelligence, but relatively good): Henchmen. These are non-player-characters which have been designed a certain profession and can aide players in creating groups capable of completing a mission or using as human subs if for a reason or another the team cannot invite other human players yet wishes to have as many characters as possible for the upcoming mission. These characters are not extremely intelligent (dont worry, they do not get stuck. They do not appear to have any pathfinding issues) yet are suitable support characters and act their role out with brilliance.
If you need a guide/walkthrough for all your missions in Guild Wars with or without Henchmen, get them at Skryer.
Henchmen cannot be procured in every outpost, as they are limited to the lower to mid difficulty areas. The more difficult areas do not feature any henchmen whatsoever. To invite a henchman, the group leader must merely click the character and use the invite option. Kicking a henchman from the group is similar, select the character and use the uninvite option.
Available henchmen are as follows:
- Ranger Excellent from a distance, perfect for supporting the team in an offensive manner. Low chances of dying if the situation is being controlled by the rest of the team.
- Monk Probably the most useful henchman to bring along, as this character is able to successfully heal other players and allied creatures. Excellent for support, but lacks offensive abilities. Does not die necessarily very easily due to his/her healing abilities. Sadly, this character is unable to resurrect allies.
- Warrior Simple character by nature, although unable to deal very large amounts of damage; the Warrior is great to use as a tank as he/she can withstand large amounts of damage before falling. Excellent for groups using a large spellcaster vs. melee ratio.
- Elementalist The most offensive character of them all, able to deal excellent ranged damage as well as area of effect damage. Useful for groups needing a bit more firepower. Great support character and should not die unless the situation becomes rather chaotic and the frontlines collapse, allowing melee foes to reach the Elementalist (melee characters vs. spellcasters usually means a swift demise for the spellcaster. Exceptions do exist however, as lightning abilities tear up Warriors)
