Guild Wars utilizes an interesting piece of technology referred to as ‘streamlining’, where is content is continuously downloaded to the players computer; allowing the development team to actively change content without needing to bring down the server. By paying close attention, you may notice a little lightning symbol in the upper right corner of the screen; this is the streaming technology at work.

The guild wars installer client is minimal in size, roughly 70kb as the streaming technology downloads all the content from the ArenaNet servers.
